De techniek lijkt op een normale eDNA test, maar in plaats van soortspecifieke primers wordt er gebruikt gemaakt van door Sylphium ontwikkelde universele primers, waarmee van b.v. alle vissen dezelfde DNA regio wordt verkregen.
