
Sylphium molecular ecology is a company specialized in environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis, providing reliable solutions for the isolation and detection of eDNA since 2018. We support laboratories and ecological consultation companies worldwide with validated tools and methods than be implemented directly in their own workflows.
Sylphium operates a fully equipped eDNA service laboratory and a complete webshop offering validated products for eDNA sampling, DNA extraction, and qPCR analysis. Clients can choose between expert laboratory services or purchasing validated kits and materials to perform eDNA analysis in their own laboratory.
Horizon REFBAR project
Sylphium participates in the REFBAR project as an industrial partner, contributing expertise in eDNA sampling and extraction to help reinforce the network for an enriched freshwater phytoplankton barcode library.

eDNA Dual Filter™
High yield, easy to use
Designed for fast, on-site filtration without the need for complex equipment. The dual membrane system with a large area enables filtration of much higher volumes than conventional filters.
Contamination free, in-capsule preservation
Preservation buffer is added into the sealed capsule to stabilize dNA directly after filtration. The closed capsule design minimizes exposure and prevents cross-contamination between sampling sites


Perform eDNA analysis yourself
Water laboratories and ecological consultancies can now perform DNA analyses in-house using the kits developed by Sylphium molecular ecology.
Doing the analyses yourself allows you to plan sampling and processing on your own schedule, resulting in much faster turnaround times. In addition, you maintain full control over the entire workflow, from sampling to reporting.
