eDNA Isolation Kit – SYL002
The eDNA Isolation Kit (SYL002) is designed for the rapid and efficient isolation of environmental DNA (eDNA) from water samples. Ideal for both qualitative and quantitative PCR amplification, this kit ensures a high yield of pure eDNA ready for use in qPCR. The entire isolation procedure takes approximately 2 hours, and the isolated DNA is dissolved in TE buffer, making it immediately ready for analysis.
This kit is perfectly suited for extracting and isolating eDNA from samples preserved with the eDNA Dual Filter Capsule (SYL009) and is compatible with all associated products. For a step-by-step guide on how to extract preserved eDNA from the capsule and proceed with the isolation, refer to the instruction protocol.
Optional: Internal Positive Control (IPC) Quantification Kit
All Sylphium sample sets include an internal positive control (IPC) in the preservation solution. This internal control consists of a small piece of synthetic xenobiotic DNA, which is unknown in the aquatic environment and will not interfere with the detection of target organisms. The IPC serves as an efficiency check for the DNA isolation procedure and a quality and purity check of the isolated DNA. The IPC quantification kit can be ordered separately and is quantified through the FAM channel.
